Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) is used in the skin for the treatment of facial wrinkles, because of its neurotoxic effect, it relax the muscles and temporarily paralyze them.  It is also used to relieve migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in neck and eyes. 

The results can be seen inmediately but they are not permanent, you will need couple of sessions between 6 months after the first one and 8 months to the next one.  Then, results can be manteined with annual injections.

The procedure doesn't need anesthesia and the needles used for the injections are extremely small, you could feel some discomfort but it would be minimal.  After the first session you will see that the results will be improving during the days untill achieve definitive improve in about 2 weeks. 

Botox can be used by any patient with wrinkles, forehead crease and others after the evaluation, headaches and other problems can be derived from lack of experience, we encourage you to find a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to minimize the risk of complications. 

Small haematomas could appear, but then should disappear in couple of days and you can hide them with make up.  The procedure is not indicated for pregnant women, patients receiving anticoagulation therapies or with coagulation disorders.
