Solange Magnano dies after cosmetic surgery procedure
Argentine model and ex beauty queen Solange Magnano, a 38 years old married mother of twins who still enjoyed a succesful modeling career died of a pulmonary embolism after having buttock injections.
There are different ways to enlarge or lift buttocks, in her case, they reportedly used PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) and apparently, in a terrible wrong ending for the procedure, the product went to her blood stream and then travel to her lungs (likely due to the product being injected to a blood vessel). The product (which is a permanent filler like silicone) most probably clogged the major vessel of the lungs and she could no longer get enough oxygen into her body, killing her. This could be prevented by using a blunt cannula, which is so flat and blunt that it's nearly impossible to inject into a blood vessel. This product is not in common use for buttocks augmentation in USA, being implants and fat grafting the preferred ways for the procedure. Many people think that this a very safe procedure, but you can never forget that all plastic surgery procedures (as any surgery) have their own risks and possible complications, you should always ask for all of it to your surgeon before any procedure and do your own homework investigating about what you want, your options for it and the possible complications, which may include death after a situation like this one. |
