Laser hair removal is a very popular nonsurgical procedure, performed not only by plastic surgeons but by others health professionals as special trained nurses.  It is a safe, non invasive and permanent way to reduce unwanted facial or body hair.

The Procedure

The technique takes from several minutes to hours according to theare involved. The procedure uses a low energy laser, this energy will pass the skin and it will be absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle.  Some of the follicles will be inmediately and permanently disabled to grow, but not all of them are in the same grouth stage, that is why you may need several traitments.  You could feel minimal discofort, but no anesthesia is necesary.

The Results

You will be able to go back to normal activities inmediately after the procedure.  Some patients could experience mild redness and localized swelling of the treated skin that will disappear in couple of days.

You may need some specially formulated skin care products and sunscreen for treated areas exposed to the sun.  It is important to know that patients with darker pigmentation may not respond well to the treatments and blond, white or gray hair are less responsive to laser and sometimes can not be treated.
